My Musical Journey...
From the Cold Prairies to SoCal
My music career started with piano lessons and joining public school music programs, playing mainly trumpet, continuing through high school, along with electric bass, and on into college.
I decided to switch my focus to the upright and electric bass after starting college, and transferred to university to continue studying the double bass as a symphonic orchestral performance major, while also playing jazz, rock, pop, R&B and everything in between along the way.
The bassist's role is to lay a foundation of musical architecture every performance, creating shape and form in real-time collaboration with fellow musicians - and for me, that's where the magic happens.

A Bit More About Me...
Far from sunny Los Angeles, I was born and grew up on the cold Canadian Prairies, before moving west to the North Okanagan valley for high-school. The Vancouver Lower Mainland became home while completing Associate and Bachelor degrees in Music (Double Bass Performance), and later adding a Bachelor's degree in Education (Music). During and after university, I freelanced as a professional bassist and teacher throughout the Southern Interior and Lower Mainland regions of British Columbia. I was Principal Bassist with the Kamloops Symphony Orchestra (BC) for 4 years, taught elementary and secondary public-school music for 7 years, before "jumping ship" at the opportunity to perform and tour as bassist and music director onboard cruises, traveling all over the world, where my wife and I met while performing together. We've been fortunate to make both New York City and Los Angeles our home-base at different times, and I'm thankful and blessed to share the stage in my performing career with amazing artists from all over the world, both at sea and on land. Returning to dry-land after ten years onboard cruise ships in 2014, I went on the road with the 1st US National Broadway tour of “Nice Work If You Can Get It”, followed by working in corporate Entertainment Operations management, leading music programming, staffing and licensing for Princess Cruises (2015-2024). My travels have taken me around the world, and for the past 20 years have brought me back to Los Angeles, CA where my wife and I currently call home.
